I've heard many people expressing concerns regarding the gimmick that is 3D and it's application in Jackass 3D. I can assure you, such apprehension is unwarranted. Jackass 3D incorporates 3D effects brilliantly, and when combined with exceptional slow motion shooting, scenes can be both mesmerizing and vomit inducing at the same time.
Everyone is back. Steve-O looks disturbingly skinny, and I hope he's not back on his air duster/pcp binge. Johnny Knoxville looks quite a bit older as well, sporting a few grey hairs. It's clear hes lost a good deal of weight as well. Fan favorite Ryan Dunn is sporting one of the most epic beards I've ever seen. Unfortunately that too is never safe in the hands of the Jackass crew. Wee-Man has some of the most hilarious scenes in the film, usually sans Preston Lacy this time around in favor of supporting actors his own size.
Highlights include a skit involving a giant spring loaded hand that Knoxville and Wee-Man use to punish the other cast members. Wee-Man coaxes them by feigning a friendly high five, which no man can deny. Knoxville later tries his best to avoid the business end of a raging bull by blending into a cardboard cutout. Obviously he fails at the task, hilariously. Scenes like this put me on the edge of my seat. Ryan Dunn goes toe to toe with a pissed off ram, and is constantly being knocked over. Wearing no protection, he could have easily been killed if the ram chose to go literally head to head with Ryan after he had fallen to his hands and knees.
For those not in the mood to see a significant amount of male genitalia, Jackass 3D is probably not the film to see. Chris Pontius is not ashamed to spend the majority of Jackass 3D in the buff, using his manhood to engage in several recreational activites. These include such things as flying remote control helicopters, or playing a friendly game of baseball. At one point Jackass 3D chooses to censor Pontius' flailing member, only to remove the censor bar randomly during the slow motion, 3D enhanced scene.
Jackass 3D makes me feel sorry for theater employees. I know for a fact that a number of movie-goers were unable to hold down their lunches during several scenes. Steve-O takes a bungie ride in a porta potty filled to the brim with chocolate delight, and he clearly takes an unfortunate amount to the mouth and facial regions. The worst comes when Preston Lacy dons a 'Sweat Suit', aka saran wrap, with a funnel leading from his butt, to a glass meant for Steve-O's consumption. I've never puked while watching a movie, and didn't think this scene would phase me, but when Steve-O put the glass to his lips I almost lost it.
The only real complaint I have about Jackass 3D is that the boys didn't do enough takes of some of the better scenes. There were several gags that were great, but only had a few seconds of screen time. Previous films have shown several members of the cast taking turns punishing themselves under the same circumstances, but this is missing from much of Jackass 3D. This does allow for more stunts to be included overall, but I would have liked to see more of the really good gag setups. The final scene is amazing, and really showcases the 3D slow motion cameras used. This is probably where the cast spent the majority of the film's budget as well, but every second is worth it.
Sure some scenes are over the top, but I'll be damned if I wasn't left with some interesting subject matter to discuss with co-workers. Jackass fans have no reason to skip on this entry, and judging by the condition of the cast by the end of Jackass 3D, we may not see another.

Will 3D Television Trigger Epileptic Seizures?
Is the 3D effect a myth or a fact?
The answer is it could be both!
The advent of 3D movies such as Avatar and the expected explosion of 3D Television is creating concerns in the community worldwide as to the effect of 3D viewing in "triggering" an epileptic seizure.
In some cases these concerns are indeed valid, in others it is merely adding another myth to the mystery of epilepsy, particularly in the minds of those who are not epilepsy sufferers.
As much as awareness of epilepsy and what it is, and more importantly what it is NOT, is growing in society through various information campaigns, the misguided stigmas attached to epileptics are still unfortunately prevalent in those who do not have epilepsy or are not close to someone who does.
For those that are epileptics they are generally well aware that epilepsy has many forms (types) and seizures manifest themselves in many different ways.
The main concern should be - do you have "Photosensitive Epilepsy"?
The following is a brief extract from Wikipedia explaining photosensitive epilepsy - there is much more specific information available however this should suffice to get across my message.
"In some epileptics, flickering or flashing lights, such as strobe lights, can be responsible for the onset of a tonic clonic, absence, or myoclonic seizure. This condition is known as photosensitive epilepsy, and in some cases, the seizures can be triggered by activities that are harmless to others, such as watching television or playing video games, or by driving or riding during daylight along a road with spaced trees, thereby simulating the "flashing light" effect. Some people can suffer a seizure as a result of blinking one's own eyes. Contrary to popular belief, this form of epilepsy is relatively uncommon, accounting for just 3% of all cases. In all other epileptics, such lights are no more capable of triggering a seizure than in a non-epileptic person.
A routine part of the EEG test involves exposing the patient to flickering lights in order to attempt to induce a seizure, to determine if such lights may be triggering a seizure in the patient, and to be able to read the wavelengths when such a seizure occurs".
So in my opinion to confirm or obviate any concerns or fears you may have for yourself or loved ones about the trigger factor of viewing 3D Television or 3D movies it would be pertinent to confirm with your doctor, paediatrician or neurologist as to whether you or your loved ones do indeed suffer from PHOTOSENSITIVE epilepsy.
There are many things that can trigger seizures in different people, one which is fairly common is STRESS - so eliminate the stress and worry you may have about the effects of 3D Television by simply consulting with your physician or primary carer.
Why deprive yourself or your loved ones of the experience of 3D Television viewing just because of a maybe?
If you do not have photosensitive epilepsy then the risks should be negligible.
Many people without epilepsy will feel a bit funny, dizzy, experience headaches etc after watching a 3D movie, after all the transmission and the 3D glasses are playing tricks on your eyes and brain - so in epileptics feeling these sensations it does not necessarily mean the advent of a seizure.
In summary, the only people who can tell you if 3D Television or movies will affect you is your doctor(s), so don't listen to rumours or innuendo - enjoy the experience.
If you happen to be in the approximate 3% of epileptics with photosensitive epilepsy then I feel for you, however again talk to your physician, maybe there is a way to offset the effects (some say taking an increased dose ( such an increase validated by your doctor) of anti-convulsants prior to and after watching 3D Television or 3D movies can be beneficial, however that is only hearsay.

Resident Evil Afterlife 3D - Is It Worth The Watch?
With 3D movies being more miss than hit this summer, we're pretty curious to see how Resident Evil Afterlife 3D does this time around. It's one of those sometimes guilty pleasure horror action films but the last one left us feeling very guilty for wasting our time watching it.
Resident Evil Afterlife 3D picks up where the last film ended, the one that we weren't too keen on, but since it keeps bringing in the bucks, they keep this franchise going. Since the events of Extinction, Alice (Milla Jovovich) has been roaming the entire planet searching for any possible survivors. In Afterlife, Alice will come face to face with her arch-rival, Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts). This is obviously one of the selling points of the film as Alice has never met or come into face to face contact with him. As she enters the decimated city of Los Angeles, Alice stumbles onto one of the many bases of Umbrella, which is naturally overrun and surrounded by zombies. As usually happens with the Resident Evil franchise, Alice is able to find a small team of survivors to team up with who had been underground in Los Angeles since the T-virus outbreak. Alice finds out that there group of non-zombie survivors being held in a prison, among them the brother of Claire (Ali Larter), Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller) that she must save. Oh Alice, she never gets a break!
Resident Evil Afterlife 3D promises once again that the evil Umbrella organization will be paying a long overdue price for the hell they have caused in the world and for Alice. Naturally with this one being in 3D, there will be lots of flying body parts and blood splatters coming out of the screen for your pleasure.
Afterlife 3D will be hitting theaters this Friday and then right around Christmas for the DVD/blu-ray.

The New 3D TV 0f 2010
Years ago, we used to watch TV shows in a 12-inch black and white televn. But as years passed by, we can notice how the television has evolved from a simple box with pictures into the newest, grandest design TV sets. Starting with black and white TV to plasma TV then Flat screen TV, a new technology now appears and enters into the market. The newest technology when it comes to television is the 3D TV. This TV will surely change the way we will watch our favorite TV shows.
This year 2010 is considered a gateway for 3D movies. One 3D movie that had a great impact to viewers is the "Avatar" which made over $2.5 billion dollars in the first 66 days of its opening. This implies that shows are now presented in a different and a much higher level of movie presentation. Until now, more and more movies are being produced in 3D versions. This paved way to the creation of the newest, most advanced Television set, the 3D Television set. For the 6 top television companies - Sony, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Vizio and Panasonic, this is another battle for them to show off their brand, outshine their competitors and prove to the consumers that their brand is the best.
What makes 3D TV different? Just like in 3D movies where 3 Dimensional features are produced, 3D TV also uses the stereoscopic effect in creating its 3 dimensional pictures. This creates an illusion making 2 slightly different images of the scenario for the left eye and right eye, tricking the brain that the flat image we are watching truly has depth in it. The truth is 3D TV technology isn't new at all, it was actually marketed few years ago but the main problem why people did not patronize it is because of its glasses. During that time, you need to wear 3D glasses for you to appreciate the 3D technology on this type of TV. But because of the continuous research by leading companies, they've come up withthe latest 3D TV version which does not need special 3D glasses.
In CEDEC 2010, one of the leading television manufacturers unveiled their newest 3D TV free from 3D glasses. Also, Panasonic announced its released of its own version the Viera VT25 series. Then, later, Samsung also already releases their own brand, the BD-C6900 a 3D Blu-ray Player. In year 2011, it is expected that more versions and brands of 3D Television sets will come out and it's for consumer to see which company manufacturers the best 3D TV. This technology would surely be a big hit! But of course, there are certain issues manufacturers have to address and one of them is price of this 3D TV. Before the 3D TV could invade every home, they should make it more affordable especially for the middle class.
